Sun Mar 09 11:30:00 UTC 2025: ## 13-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Set to Become Youngest IPL Player Ever

**Jaipur, India** – Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old cricketer from Bihar, is poised to make history as the youngest player ever to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Rajasthan Royals (RR), who secured him for ₹1.1 crore in the mega auction, are scheduled to play their first match of IPL 2025 on March 23rd.

Suryavanshi, who made his Ranji Trophy debut at the remarkably young age of 12 years and 284 days, has already shattered numerous records. He became the youngest player to ever feature in the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Last month, he further cemented his status as a prodigious talent by scoring a century off just 58 balls in a match against Australia Under-19, the second-fastest century at that level after Moeen Ali’s 56-ball effort. This feat also made him the youngest player to score a century in youth cricket, surpassing the previous record held by Bangladesh’s Nazmul Hossain Shanto.

His impressive performances continued in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2024, where he averaged 44 and boasted a strike rate of 145 for India Under-19. If Suryavanshi plays in the upcoming IPL season, he will surpass the previous youngest IPL players, Ravindra Jadeja (19 years old in 2008) and Sanju Samson (18 years old in 2013). Samson, incidentally, is now the Rajasthan Royals’ highest run-scorer and most capped player. Suryavanshi’s consistent record-breaking achievements since his 2024 debut underscore his exceptional talent and promise for the future of Indian cricket.
