Sun Mar 09 10:10:00 UTC 2025: ## India and New Zealand Set for ICC Champions Trophy Final Showdown
**Dubai, UAE –** The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand is set to take place this Sunday in Dubai. This marks India’s third consecutive appearance in the final, and they are aiming for a victory. Unlike the previous tournament in Pakistan, which was plagued by weather disruptions, Dubai is expected to provide favorable conditions for an uninterrupted match, according to weather forecasts.
However, the possibility of a tie, reminiscent of the controversial 2019 World Cup final, remains a concern. To avoid a repeat of the boundary-count controversy which sparked widespread criticism of the ICC, a robust tie-breaker system has been implemented.
In the event of a tie, a super over will be played, mirroring the system used in T20 cricket. If the super over also results in a tie, additional super overs will be played until a winner is determined. The winner of the super over(s) will claim the Champions Trophy.
Should unforeseen rain interrupt play, and fewer than 25 overs are completed per side, the Duckworth-Lewis method will be used to determine the winner. However, if the match cannot be concluded due to weather, a co-championship outcome, similar to the 2002 final between India and Sri Lanka, will be declared.
