**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – March 9, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has set an ambitious goal to boost the state’s per capita income from ₹2.68 lakh to ₹58 lakh by 2047. Speaking at International Women’s Day celebrations, Mr. Naidu emphasized women’s empowerment as a key driver of this economic growth.
Mr. Naidu highlighted the success of existing women’s empowerment programs like DWCRA and MEPMA, noting that these groups have secured ₹35,000 crore in bank loans this year alone. He stressed the importance of technology adoption for women entrepreneurs, announcing plans to establish workstations in villages to facilitate remote work opportunities and provide training programs. Further support will come from the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, offering 45% investment subsidies and flexible degree opportunities to women in technology-driven businesses.
Addressing concerns about declining birth rates, Mr. Naidu advocated for families to have at least two or three children. The government’s ‘Thalli Ki Vandanam’ program will provide ₹15,000 per child to support mothers, and maternity leave benefits for government employees have been extended regardless of the number of children.
Mr. Naidu also provided updates on key infrastructure projects, stating his government’s commitment to completing the Veligonda project and linking the Godavari and Krishna rivers to alleviate drought. He highlighted the “Shakti App,” a new initiative designed to ensure rapid police response to women in distress. The Chief Minister attributed his own ability to handle high-pressure responsibilities to a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and the use of a health-monitoring device.
