**Vijayawada, March 8, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the critical role of women in achieving sustainable development, stating that their full participation is essential for progress. Speaking at an international conference on sustainable enterprises, he unveiled a comprehensive plan to support women-led businesses and enhance their skill development through technology.
Mr. Naidu highlighted the increasing participation of women in the workforce, citing data from the 2023-24 Periodic Labour Force Survey. He underscored the need for women’s involvement in all sectors, noting their achievements in various fields. His personal experiences, including witnessing his mother’s struggles with cooking, led to the launch of the Deepam scheme providing free cooking gas cylinders to households, recently expanded to three cylinders per household.
The Chief Minister announced that 45% of investments in MSMEs will be directed towards women-led initiatives, with the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub providing support to women entrepreneurs. He encouraged women to embrace artificial intelligence, envisioning AI-powered cooking solutions to ease household burdens. Furthermore, the government plans to significantly promote work-from-home initiatives for women to improve work-life balance.
Mr. Naidu’s vision is to transform Andhra Pradesh into a hub for empowered women entrepreneurs, driving the state’s progress towards a brighter future. He urged women to actively participate in government initiatives and work collaboratively for the state’s development.
