**IRVING, Texas** – TCU guard Hailey Van Lith has etched her name in Big 12 history, becoming the first player to ever win both Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in the same season. The announcement, made Tuesday by the conference, caps off a remarkable final collegiate season for Van Lith, who transferred to TCU for her fifth year.
The award, voted on by the league’s 16 head coaches, highlights Van Lith’s dominant performance for the eighth-ranked Horned Frogs. Averaging 17.6 points and 5.4 assists, she led TCU to their first-ever Big 12 regular-season title in their 13-year tenure in the conference. Her success follows a decorated career that includes Elite Eight appearances with LSU and Louisville, as well as a Final Four appearance with the Cardinals.
Coach Mark Campbell also received recognition, earning Big 12 Coach of the Year honors for guiding TCU to their historic regular-season championship.
Other award winners include BYU freshman guard Delaney Gibb, who unanimously won Freshman of the Year, averaging 17.5 points and 4.2 assists. West Virginia’s JJ Quinerly repeated as Defensive Player of the Year, a feat unmatched since Baylor’s Lauren Cox in 2018-19. Finally, Baylor senior guard Yaya Felder secured Sixth Player of the Year.
