PITTSBURGH, PA – Robert Morris University’s men’s basketball team, led by star guard Kam Woods, is set to compete in the Horizon League Tournament. Woods, a senior, boasts an impressive basketball career, including nearly 4,000 career high school points and accolades at multiple college levels. After a year on the bench for N.C. State’s Final Four team, Woods is now the Colonials’ leading scorer (14.6 ppg) and assist leader (133 assists).

Coach Andy Toole, Horizon League Coach of the Year, praised Woods’ leadership and clutch performances, noting his confidence and willingness to take key shots. Toole also highlighted the contributions of other key players: Alvaro Folgueiras (Player of the Year), and Amarion Dickerson (Defensive Player of the Year). Folgueiras is expected to play despite a recent injury.

The top-seeded Robert Morris team faces Wright State in the quarterfinals on Thursday. The women’s team also participates in the tournament, facing Northern Kentucky in an earlier quarterfinal matchup. Woods, accustomed to high-pressure situations, aims to lead his team to an NCAA Tournament berth, a goal he narrowly missed last year while with N.C. State. He emphasizes maintaining composure and focus throughout the tournament. The winner of the Horizon League Tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
