**Jalesar, Uttar Pradesh –** Nine members of a family have been accused of poisoning their elderly mother to death two years ago to gain control of her property. A case has been registered against the three brothers, their wives, and three nephews following a recent viscera report confirming poisoning.
The complaint was filed by Yogendra Singh Yadav (Yogi), who alleges his brothers, Ravendra Pal, Bijendra Pal, and Narendra Pal, manipulated their mother, Pavitra Devi, into transferring her property to them. Yogi further claims his mother confided in him about threats to her life and planned to testify in court to support his allegations.
While a post-mortem was conducted shortly after Pavitra Devi’s death, the investigation stalled until the recently released viscera report confirmed poisoning as the cause of death. Police have now registered a case and stated that arrests are imminent. The investigation is ongoing.
