**Hyderabad, March 7, 2025** – Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) employees will receive a 2.5% increase in their Dearness Allowance (DA), Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced today. This hike will cost the corporation an additional ₹3.6 crore per month.
The Minister cited the increased workload resulting from the successful Mahalakshmi Scheme, which provides free bus rides for women. He noted that the scheme has added 1.4 million female passengers daily, placing increased pressure on TGSRTC employees, who he praised for their dedication. The government reimburses the corporation for the approximately ₹5,000 crore cost of the free rides, represented by 150 crore zero tickets issued.
