**Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, March 7, 2025** – A devastating fire at a polythene factory in Sadabad town, Hathras, early Friday morning resulted in one fatality and two serious injuries. The blaze, which broke out around 1 a.m. near Chaudhary Charan Singh Tiraha, claimed the life of 38-year-old Dharmendra Chaudhary, a local shopkeeper who had rushed to the scene. Two factory workers, Bhupendra Singh (25) and Pradeep Kumar (22), sustained severe burn injuries and were transferred to a higher medical center after initial treatment at the Sadabad Community Health Centre.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. While the factory is owned by Gautam and registered under his wife’s name, officials have yet to determine the origin of the blaze. Firefighters and police, including Circle Officer Himanshu Mathur and Kotwali Inspector Satendra Singh Raghav, worked extensively to bring the fire under control. Chaudhary’s body has been sent for post-mortem. The investigation is ongoing.
