**CHENNAI, INDIA –** Production has officially begun on “Mookuthi Amman 2,” the highly anticipated sequel to the successful Tamil-Telugu film “Mookuthi Amman.” A lavish pooja ceremony was held today on a newly constructed, one-crore-rupee set in Chennai, marking the commencement of filming.
The sequel, helmed by director Sundar C and produced by Vels Film International and Ivy Entertainment, boasts a massive budget of Rs 100 crore. Nayanthara will reprise her leading role, alongside a star-studded cast including Duniya Vijay, Regina Cassandra, Yogi Babu, Urvashi, Abhinaya, Ramachandra Raju, Ajay Ghosh, Singam Puli, Vichu Viswanath, Iniya, and Mynaa Nandini. Hiphop Adhi will compose the film’s music.
In a notable statement, Nayanthara has announced she will not be using the title “Lady Superstar” in association with this film, choosing instead to forgo such appellations.
