Thu Mar 06 16:04:43 UTC 2025: ## Five Arrested in Mumbai for Alleged Rape of 12-Year-Old Girl
**MUMBAI, March 3** – Mumbai police have arrested five men in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in Jogeshwari. The girl, who had run away from home after an argument on February 24th, was found alone at Dadar railway station by Government Railway Police (GRP) on February 27th.
Initially reluctant to speak, the girl eventually revealed that she had been assaulted by five individuals after one of them lured her to a house where four others were present. The accused allegedly assaulted her before abandoning her at the railway station.
The GRP, after initially searching for her family, learned of a missing person’s report filed at the Jogeshwari police station. The case was then transferred to local police, who, after coaxing the girl to speak, obtained her statement detailing the assault.
A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. All five accused were apprehended on March 2nd and are currently in police custody. The investigation is ongoing.
