**NEW DELHI, March 7, 2025** – The 20th International Association of Women in Radio & Television (IAWRT) Asian Women’s Film Festival opened Thursday at the India International Centre. The festival, running until March 8th, features 65 films from 21 Asian countries, all directed by women.
Beyond screenings, the festival includes panel discussions, masterclasses, and film exhibitions. Aparna Sanyal, managing trustee of IAWRT’s India Chapter, emphasized the festival’s focus on fostering dialogue around film, feminism, and gender.
The opening ceremony also showcased films created by ten underprivileged girls from Delhi who participated in a recent mobile filmmaking workshop organized by IAWRT in collaboration with the Delhi Tourism Department. The girls were recognized for their work at the event.
