Wed Mar 05 19:33:29 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Relaxes Truck Restrictions for National Highway Construction
**Kozhikode, Kerala – March 6, 2025** – Heavy trucks carrying over 12,000 kg of construction materials for National Highway (NH) widening projects in Kozhikode, Kerala have been temporarily exempted from daytime restrictions. The decision, announced following a meeting chaired by District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh, aims to alleviate delays caused by existing regulations on tipper lorries.
The restrictions, previously in place during peak hours, significantly hampered the timely delivery of materials, according to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials. To ensure easy identification, these exempted trucks must display stickers obtained from the Regional Transport Office (RTO). The RTO will also receive a list of registered vehicles used by the NHAI.
The relaxation is conditional; the exemption will be revoked if public complaints arise. The decision involved collaboration between police and Transport department officials.
