**Hyderabad, India –** Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have announced the signing of South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder as a replacement for injured pace bowler Brydon Carse ahead of the IPL 2025 season. Carse, who was acquired by SRH for his base price of INR 1 crore, aggravated a pre-existing left toe injury during England’s recent Champions Trophy campaign. The injury flared up during the white-ball series in India and ultimately forced him out of the tournament after a single match where he conceded 69 runs.
Mulder, who also participated in the Champions Trophy, will fill Carse’s role. The South African impressed with six wickets in three matches and will be making his IPL debut. He had initially gone unsold at the auction with a base price of INR 75 lakhs.
SRH, runners-up in the previous IPL season, kick off their 2025 campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 23rd in a home afternoon match.
