**New Delhi, March 6, 2025** – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory warning of significant changes across several parts of the country, beginning March 9th. A major western disturbance is expected to impact the western Himalayan region, bringing heavy snowfall and rain to Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh from March 9th to 11th. Uttarakhand is also expected to experience severe weather on March 11th.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Arunachal Pradesh due to a cyclonic circulation in the lower troposphere, predicting rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall. Assam and Meghalaya can also anticipate inclement weather.
Strong winds (30-40 kmph) with rain and thunderstorms are forecast for Bihar until March 8th. West Bengal and Sikkim are also expected to experience poor weather conditions on March 7th and 8th.
Northwest India, including Delhi, will see strong winds (25-45 kmph) over the next 24 hours. This includes Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
Conversely, Kerala and Mahe are expected to experience warm and humid conditions. Fishermen have been advised against venturing into the Gujarat coast.
