Thu Mar 06 09:33:23 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad Police Bust Massive Fake PayPal Call Centre, 63 Arrested

**Hyderabad, Telangana, March 6, 2025** – Sixty-three individuals were arrested in a major crackdown on a fraudulent call centre operating in Hyderabad’s HiTec City. The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) operation, conducted overnight on March 5-6, targeted a ring posing as PayPal customer service representatives. The group, primarily targeting Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and US citizens, defrauded victims through sophisticated phishing techniques.

The call centre, operating since January 2025 under the guise of “Exito Solutions,” employed advanced software like Eyebeam and X-Lite to make fraudulent calls and send phishing emails. Employees, many from Northeast India, made an average of 30 calls per day, totaling over 600 calls daily. They falsely claimed unauthorized transactions and pressured victims into revealing banking details under the guise of refunds or fraud prevention. Money was then siphoned into mule accounts in the US and converted into untraceable cryptocurrency.

The operation, allegedly masterminded by Kaivan Patel Rupesh Kumar (alias Jadu Bhai) from Gujarat, involved his brother in Dubai and an associate named Ajad. The scam was facilitated by stolen PayPal data and the use of multiple bank accounts. The accused were recruited via social media, promised salaries of ₹30,000 per month, and housed in a nearby hostel.

The TGCSB seized 52 mobile phones, 63 laptops, and 27 identification cards during the raid. The Bureau is collaborating with the Telecom Department and the US Consulate to identify victims and track the fraudulent accounts. Further investigations are underway to apprehend additional suspects, including key recruiter “Justin” and Jadu Bhai. Authorities also warned citizens about the potential misuse of leased properties by scammers.
