**New Delhi, March 6, 2025** – The Indian National Congress has established a new department to manage its nationwide assets and properties. Vijay Inder Singla, a former Punjab Minister and current joint treasurer of the party, has been appointed as the department’s in-charge. The announcement was made by Congress general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal on Wednesday. Mr. Singla will retain his position as joint treasurer, sharing the role with senior leader Ajay Maken. This move follows Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s January call for legal action to reclaim properties lost during past party splits.
