Tue Mar 04 16:10:00 UTC 2025: ## RCB Captain Apologizes to Bengaluru Fans After Winless Home Stand
**Bengaluru, March 2, 2025** – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Smriti Mandhana issued a public apology to fans after the team suffered a humiliating four-game losing streak at their home ground during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. Despite strong initial performances winning their first two games in Vadodara, RCB failed to replicate that success in Bengaluru, culminating in a nine-wicket defeat to Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday.
The loss, which saw RCB manage only 147/5 batting first, leaves them fourth in the standings. Despite Ellyse Perry’s unbeaten 60, the team struggled to find consistent support. DC comfortably chased down the target with Shafali Verma (80) and Jess Jonassen (61) leading the charge.
Mandhana expressed her regret to the passionate Bengaluru crowd, who turned out in large numbers for each match. “I would just say sorry,” she stated in the post-match presentation. “They came out in huge numbers. We could not win a match for them in Bengaluru… They are still chanting (our name) and that is why they are the best fans in the world.”
While acknowledging the disappointment, Mandhana emphasized the need to move forward. The team has a week-long break before facing UP Warriorz in Lucknow on March 8th, providing an opportunity for reflection and strategizing to improve their performance in the remaining matches. Their playoff hopes now hang in the balance.
