**Kannur, Kerala – March 5, 2025** – A wild elephant caused panic in Karikkottakkary town, Kannur district, Kerala, this morning after entering a residential area. The aggressive animal charged at a Forest Department vehicle before being driven away. It is currently located in a nearby plantation, with forest officials attempting to guide it back into the forest.
As a precaution, District Collector Arun K. Vijayan imposed a ban on public gatherings in three wards (Edapuzha, Koomanthode, and Karikkottakkary) from 10 a.m. today until 6 p.m. tomorrow. The ban aims to ensure public safety.
