**Baroli, [State] –** A 30-year-old man, Sumit, has been arrested for the murder of his 70-year-old mother in Baroli village. Police reported that Sumit, who had been drinking heavily at a family wedding, returned home intoxicated and was scolded by his mother. Enraged, he allegedly slit her throat with a sickle and subsequently buried her body in a sugarcane field, wrapped in a sack.
Police recovered the body and arrested Sumit. ASP N P Singh stated that Sumit’s father was absent at the time of the murder, working as a night watchman in a nearby village.
