Wed Mar 05 00:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Woods and McIlroy’s TGL Teams Miss Playoffs in Inaugural Season
**Jupiter, FL & Boston, MA** – Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links GC and Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf have been eliminated from the inaugural season of the TGL (Technical Golf League) after failing to qualify for the playoffs. Despite co-founding the innovative part-virtual league, neither Woods nor McIlroy could lead their respective teams to a top-four finish.
Boston’s playoff hopes were dashed Monday in a 10-6 loss to the New York Golf Club. A late surge by New York’s Cameron Young, Rickie Fowler, and Xander Schauffele, including five points in the final four holes, sealed the victory. Schauffele’s crucial seven-foot chip on the final hole prevented Boston from forcing overtime.
“After the start we had, the goal was trying to get in the playoffs,” stated New York’s Fowler. “After going 0-2, we were just trying to dig and find something. We’re just starting to find some form, so it’s good timing.”
This elimination leaves Jupiter Links GC unable to reach the postseason, regardless of their final regular-season match against Atlanta Drive GC on Wednesday. The TGL playoffs will feature New York against Los Angeles Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club against Atlanta Drive, with semifinals scheduled for March 17-18 and the final the following week.
