Wed Mar 05 17:46:46 UTC 2025: ## Tamil Nadu BJP Launches Campaign for Three-Language Policy

**Chennai, March 6, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu BJP launched a state-wide signature campaign on Wednesday, urging the implementation of a three-language formula in the state’s education system, as recommended by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The campaign, titled “Samakalvi Engal Urimai” (Equal Education is Our Right), aims to collect one crore signatures by the end of May, which will then be submitted to the President of India.

The campaign was launched by BJP state president K. Annamalai, along with former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and former Union Minister Pon. Radhakrishnan. A dedicated website has also been created for collecting digital signatures. Annamalai stated that the party will conduct public meetings and door-to-door campaigns to garner support for the three-language policy.

Annamalai justified the BJP’s boycott of an all-party meeting convened by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on delimitation, questioning the basis for concerns about a reduction in Tamil Nadu’s parliamentary seats. He cited Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s assurance of a pro-rata basis for delimitation, ensuring no reduction in the state’s representation. He further criticized the state government for not addressing issues such as rising sexual assault cases and corruption. The BJP’s campaign marks a significant push for the controversial three-language policy in Tamil Nadu.
