**Onley, VA** – Accomack and Northampton counties are under a Wind Advisory today as a strong cold front brings the potential for severe weather to the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The National Weather Service warns of damaging winds, tornadoes, and hail, with gusts potentially reaching 47 mph. The advisory is in effect from 9 AM to 6 PM.
Scattered showers are expected throughout the day, with rainfall totals ranging from half an inch to three-quarters of an inch. While rainfall amounts are relatively light, residents should anticipate wet conditions lasting into the evening.
Gale Warnings are also in effect from this morning through early Thursday, with south-southeast winds increasing to 20-25 knots later today and gale-force winds expected Wednesday afternoon and evening. Seas are forecast to be 5 feet on the bayside and 7-10 feet on the seaside.
