AUSTIN, TX – Former NCAA All-American swimmer and conservative activist Riley Gaines delivered the pre-race invocation at Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas. Gaines’ prayer, which included a blessing for President Donald Trump and his cabinet, was met with cheers from the crowd.

The prayer, delivered before actor Jack Quaid started the engines, invoked blessings for drivers, staff, families, and fans, asking for safety and wisdom throughout the race. Gaines also requested guidance for national leaders, stating that seeking such guidance would prevent wrong decisions and make America great again.

The race, the third of the NASCAR season, saw Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace on the front row. Shane van Gisbergen, a road course specialist, was considered the favorite. The event followed William Byron’s Daytona 500 win and Christopher Bell’s victory at the Ambetter Health 400 in Atlanta.
