**YAZALI, Arunachal Pradesh –** Over 60 women in the remote Chullyu village of Arunachal Pradesh’s Keyi Panyor district enthusiastically celebrated International Women’s Day on Tuesday. The event, themed “March forward: From promises to progress,” was jointly organized by the NABARD district development manager (DDM) office in Ziro and World Vision India.

The celebration focused on highlighting the crucial role of women in societal development, particularly within rural communities. NABARD DDM Dr. Lalit Maurya emphasized the strategic importance of holding the event in a rural setting, ensuring that NABARD’s initiatives reach even the most remote areas. He detailed various women-centric programs, including the self-help group-bank linkage program, aimed at promoting financial inclusion and economic empowerment.

Dr. Hage Munth, Head of KVK Yachuli, stressed the significance of empowering rural women through education, skill development, and social protection, urging their participation in leadership roles and offering continued support in modern agricultural techniques. Other speakers, including PC Tiwari and Risso Maya, also praised the contributions of women to the state’s development and encouraged their continued involvement in social and economic progress. The event included participation from SHG members and women farmers involved in NABARD-supported tribal development projects.
