**Jammu, March 5, 2025** – The annual Amarnath Yatra, a pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir, will commence on July 3rd, 2025, and conclude on August 9th, officials announced Wednesday. The 38-day pilgrimage will operate simultaneously from both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes.

The decision was made at the 48th Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) meeting, chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The meeting addressed preparations for the anticipated influx of pilgrims, focusing on enhancing facilities and services. This includes expanding lodging capacity in Jammu, Srinagar, and other locations; improving e-KYC and RFID card services at various points, including Nowgam and Katra railway stations; and upgrading facilities along the pilgrimage routes, specifically in Baltal, Pahalgam, Nunwan, and Pantha Chowk.

Further improvements discussed included the dissemination of yatra information, insurance coverage for pilgrims and service providers, expansion of online services, track maintenance, decongestion measures at the holy cave, disaster preparedness, heli-service availability, medical care, improved weather forecasting, and security enhancements.
