**Jamnagar, Gujarat –** Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited Vantara, a newly opened animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The sprawling 3,000-acre facility houses over 150,000 rescued animals, including over 2,000 endangered species.

During his visit, PM Modi interacted with a variety of animals, including Asiatic lion cubs, white lion cubs, leopard cubs, snow tigers, a white lion, a snow leopard, giraffes, elephants, and parrots. Photos and videos shared on social media show him playfully engaging with the animals, even feeding water to lion cubs and orphaned rhinoceroses. He also observed a leopard undergoing life-saving surgery after a road accident.

PM Modi toured Vantara’s advanced veterinary facilities, which include MRI, CT scan, and ICU capabilities. He praised the center as a “vibrant example of our centuries-old ethos of protecting those we share our planet with,” highlighting India’s commitment to wildlife conservation. The center’s design replicates natural habitats to ensure the rescued animals receive optimal care. Among the unusual creatures PM Modi encountered were a large python, a two-headed snake, and a two-headed turtle. The visit underscored the government’s commitment to protecting India’s rich biodiversity.
