Tue Mar 04 15:02:11 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Higher Education Council to Host Collaborative Online Learning Workshop

**Thiruvananthapuram, March 4, 2025** – The Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) and the University of Michigan-Flint will jointly conduct a free online training workshop on Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), also known as virtual exchange. The two-part workshop, running March 11th and 18th, aims to equip 30 Kerala faculty members with the skills to design and implement COIL programs.

COIL connects students and faculty from different countries through online collaboration, fostering global perspectives and improving communication and intercultural skills. The workshop, led by Zachariah Mathew (Director, Center for Global Engagement, University of Michigan-Flint), will cover key COIL concepts and include an interactive session to connect participants with potential international collaborators. An optional virtual networking session is scheduled for April 1st.

Interested faculty members must register by March 4th via the KSHEC website (www.kshec.kerala.gov.in) and commit to attending both sessions and completing preparatory work. The sessions will be held from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM on the specified dates.
