Tue Mar 04 13:19:58 UTC 2025: ## NIMS Sees Sharp Rise in Outpatient Visits, Reflecting Growing Healthcare Demand

**Hyderabad, March 4, 2025** – The Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad is experiencing a significant surge in outpatient visits, highlighting both the increasing need for quality healthcare in the region and the hospital’s expanding capabilities. A 39% jump in outpatient footfall, from 6.6 lakh in 2022 to 9.2 lakh in 2024, solidifies NIMS’s position as a crucial healthcare provider in Telangana.

This increase is accompanied by a rise in complex surgical procedures, including advanced techniques like transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) and robotic surgeries. NIMS has also established itself as a leading center for diagnosing and treating genetic disorders and operates one of the largest dialysis units in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Diagnostic services have also seen a substantial increase, with a 32% rise in tests conducted – from 26.2 lakh in 2022 to 34.6 lakh in 2024. To meet this growing demand, NIMS has invested in advanced medical equipment, such as a Brain Lab and the Da Vinci robotic surgical system.

Beyond clinical advancements, NIMS is actively pursuing research, securing multiple grants from government agencies like the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST). The hospital’s growth reflects a positive trend in healthcare access and technological advancement within the state.
