**BENTON, LA** – A tragic house fire early this morning claimed the life of one adult male and injured two others. Benton Fire District #4 (BFD4) responded to a call at approximately 5:45 AM on Oak Ridge Drive in the 500 block. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire and smoke, with reports of people trapped inside.
A swift search and rescue operation successfully removed an adult male from the burning building, but despite life-saving efforts, he died at the scene. An adult female and a child escaped the home before firefighters arrived and were transported to a local hospital by Bossier Parish EMS to be treated for their injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by BFD4 fire investigators, working in conjunction with local law enforcement and the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal.
