Mon Mar 03 11:05:59 UTC 2025: ## Tamil Nadu CM Vows Resistance to Hindi Imposition

**Chennai, March 3, 2025** – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin vehemently rejected any attempt to impose Hindi in the state, asserting that the DMK party would oppose it even at the cost of losing power or facing imprisonment. In a statement released today, Stalin dismissed claims that Hindi is India’s national language and Sanskrit its ancient language, calling them “utter lies.”

Stalin emphasized that Tamils do not harbor antipathy towards any language but firmly oppose the imposition of Hindi under the guise of a three-language policy. He accused the BJP and its allies, including Governor R.N. Ravi, of betraying Tamil Nadu’s interests by advocating for Hindi’s dominance. He dismissed Governor Ravi’s arguments about the two-language policy limiting opportunities to learn additional South Indian languages, questioning why BJP-ruled states don’t similarly promote North Indian languages. He further highlighted the success of Tamil speakers in global institutions, attributing it to the state’s two-language policy.

Stalin also criticized Governor Ravi for his perceived lack of respect for Tamil language and culture, citing instances of what he described as insults to Tamil traditions and the revered poet Thiruvalluvar. The Chief Minister concluded by stating that the influx of North Indian job seekers to Tamil Nadu disproves the argument that Hindi proficiency boosts employment opportunities for Tamil youth.
