**Durham, NH** – University of New Hampshire (UNH) junior goaltender Jared Whale suffered an upper-body injury during Friday night’s Hockey East game against Boston College, resulting in his removal from the game via stretcher. The injury occurred with 4:51 remaining in the second period when a teammate fell backward onto him. Whale was evaluated at a local hospital and subsequently discharged, resting comfortably at home Saturday.
Rico DiMatteo replaced Whale in goal. Boston College, ranked number one, won the game 4-1. Andre Gasseau scored two goals for BC, his second goal giving them a 2-1 lead just 29 seconds before Whale’s injury. Robert Cronin scored UNH’s lone goal.
