**Rohtak, Haryana –** A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Himani Narwal, a Congress party worker whose body was discovered inside a suitcase in Rohtak on Saturday. Police recovered Narwal’s phone and jewelry from the suspect, a Bahadurgarh resident and friend of the victim.
Narwal, in her late twenties, was a known and active member of the Congress party, participating in events including the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Following the gruesome discovery, Haryana Police formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the murder.
The victim’s family initially refused to cremate her body until the arrest of those responsible. Her mother, Savita Devi, expressed suspicion that the murder may have been motivated by jealousy within the Congress party, citing her daughter’s rapid political rise. Devi stated that she last spoke to Narwal on February 27th.
Congress MLA from Rohtak, BB Batra, described Narwal as a “very good and active worker” of the party. The investigation is ongoing.
