Mohamed initially tweeted, “@ImRo45 is fat for a sportsman! Need to lose weight! And ofcourse the most unimpressive Captain India has ever had!” The post, made during India’s match against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025, quickly went viral, sparking widespread condemnation.

Following the uproar, Mohamed deleted the tweet and issued a statement claiming she was not body-shaming Sharma but merely commenting on the fitness standards expected of a sportsperson.
