Mon Mar 03 09:43:44 UTC 2025: ## YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia Allowed to Resume Podcast After Supreme Court Ruling

**New Delhi, March 3, 2025** – The Supreme Court of India has ruled that YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia can resume his podcast, “India Got Latent,” but with strict conditions. The court’s decision, delivered on March 3rd, follows a February 18th order granting Allahbadia interim protection from arrest based on FIRs filed in Maharashtra and Assam concerning his show’s content.

The original order barred Allahbadia from broadcasting any shows or podcasts. However, the Supreme Court modified this restriction, stating that his content must adhere to prevailing standards of decency and morality. Justice Surya Kant emphasized a clear distinction between humor and perversity in online content, suggesting that acceptable humor should be suitable for family viewing.

Allahbadia’s lawyer argued that the ban would severely impact his livelihood and that of his 200 employees. The court also addressed the issue of Allahbadia’s failure to appear before the Gauhati Police. While the lawyer claimed that the police did not respond to Allahbadia’s attempts to schedule an interview, the court instructed the Gauhati Police to provide Allahbadia with a specific date and time for questioning.

The court’s decision also included a consideration of future regulatory measures concerning online content. It agreed to hear submissions and inputs from stakeholders to determine appropriate guidelines. Allahbadia’s request to travel abroad was deferred until he cooperates with the ongoing investigation. His interim protection from arrest remains in effect. The Supreme Court’s ruling highlights the ongoing debate regarding acceptable boundaries of humor and expression in online media.
