**Los Angeles, CA** – Miramax is gearing up for a sequel to its 2024 box office hit, “The Beekeeper.” Jason Statham will reprise his role in “The Beekeeper 2,” with Timo Tjahjanto (“Nobody 2,” “The Night Comes for Us”) directing from a script by Kurt Wimmer. Original director David Ayer is expected to return as a producer.
The sequel follows the success of the first film, which grossed $162.6 million globally. Amazon/MGM Studios is reportedly in talks to handle domestic distribution, as they did with the original. Production details are yet to be announced, but the project reunites Statham with his Punch Palace Productions, while Chris Long produces through Long Shot Productions.
