**New Delhi, March 3, 2025** – External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will undertake an official visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland from March 4th to 9th, aiming to bolster India’s strategic and economic partnerships with both nations. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed the trip.
In the UK, Mr. Jaishankar will meet with Foreign Secretary David Lammy and other dignitaries to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Discussions will cover defense and security, trade and economy, health, education, and people-to-people ties. He will also interact with members of the Indian diaspora.
From March 6th to 7th, Mr. Jaishankar will travel to Ireland for meetings with his counterpart, Simon Harris, and other senior officials. The visit will also include engagements with the Indian community in Ireland. The MEA highlighted the strong existing bilateral relations between India and Ireland, built on shared democratic values, cultural ties, and growing economic cooperation.
The MEA stated that the visit aims to inject renewed momentum into India’s diplomatic and economic relationships with both the UK and Ireland.
