**New Delhi, March 3, 2025** – The Indian government has elevated the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) to the prestigious “Navratna” status, according to an official statement released on Monday.

This upgrade grants the two public sector enterprises (PSEs) greater autonomy in decision-making and operational flexibility. IRCTC, with an annual turnover of ₹4,270.18 crore, a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹1,111.26 crore, and a net worth of ₹3,229.97 crore (FY 2023-24), operates under the Ministry of Railways. IRFC, also under the Ministry of Railways, boasts even more impressive figures: an annual turnover of ₹26,644 crore, a PAT of ₹6,412 crore, and a net worth of ₹49,178 crore (FY 2023-24).

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw took to X to congratulate both organizations on achieving this milestone. The Navratna designation is a significant achievement, reflecting the strong financial performance and strategic importance of both IRCTC and IRFC within India’s railway system.
