Sun Mar 02 17:52:41 UTC 2025: ## Kumaraswamy Urges JD(S) Legislators to Question Karnataka Government on Guarantee Scheme Implementation

**Bengaluru, March 2, 2025** – Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Sunday called on Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) legislators to aggressively question the Karnataka government’s handling of its election guarantee schemes. Addressing the JD(S) Legislature Party meeting, Kumaraswamy stressed the need for coordination with the BJP alliance partner while holding the Congress government accountable.

He criticized the Congress for prioritizing political gain over effective implementation, citing the pre-election release of Gruha Lakshmi scheme payments as an example of “fraud on the people.” Kumaraswamy urged his party members to demand transparency regarding the scheme’s funding through tax increases and its overall implementation.

Further points of contention raised by Kumaraswamy include the lack of an action plan for the promised ₹5,000 crore development of the Kalyana Karnataka region and the government’s fourfold increase in excise duty. He instructed JD(S) legislators to press for answers on these issues in the state legislature.
