Sun Mar 02 22:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Delhi NCR to Sizzle: Temperatures to Reach 31°C by March 8th

**New Delhi:** The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a significant temperature rise in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) this week, with highs expected to reach 31°C by March 8th. This early surge in temperatures is raising concerns about an impending heatwave.

According to senior scientist Dr. R.K. Jenamani of the IMD’s weather forecasting center, Delhi’s maximum temperature on Monday will be around 30°C, with a minimum of 14°C. Neighboring cities like Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, and Noida will see highs between 28-29°C and lows between 15-16°C.

The IMD predicts that March, April, and May will be exceptionally hot across India, with a possibility of heatwaves in some areas. While light clouds and breezy conditions (15-20 kmph) are expected until March 7th, a substantial temperature increase is anticipated starting March 8th. The IMD’s forecast indicates that the unusually high temperatures for early March will result in a noticeable increase in heat for residents starting next week.
