**Moscow, March 2, 2025** – Russia’s Investigative Committee claims that Ukrainian attacks on Russian border regions have resulted in the deaths of 652 civilians, including 23 children, since the start of the conflict. This figure was announced by Committee head Alexander Bastrykin to the TASS news agency on Sunday. Mr. Bastrykin also stated that approximately 3,000 civilians have been injured. No evidence was provided to support these claims. Both Ukraine and Russia deny targeting civilians, despite the thousands of civilian casualties reported throughout the three-year war. The vast majority of civilian deaths throughout the conflict have been reported on the Ukrainian side.
