**LOS ANGELES** – Actor Sebastian Stan, known for his roles in “Gossip Girl” and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has received his first Oscar nomination for his performance as a young Donald Trump in the film “The Apprentice.” The movie, released October 11th, 2024, depicts Trump’s rise in the 1970s and 80s.
Stan is nominated in the “Actor in a Leading Role” category, competing against Adrian Brody, Timothée Chalamet, Colman Domingo, and Ralph Fiennes. While Variety predicts Fiennes to win for “Conclave,” they note Stan’s performance in “The Apprentice,” and suggest he deserved a nomination for his role in “A Different Man.”

This marks Stan’s 45th award nomination, with 7 previous wins. His notable past roles include Carter Baizen in “Gossip Girl” and Bucky Barnes in the Captain America films.
The Oscars will air this Sunday, March 2nd, at 7 p.m. EST on ABC and can be streamed on various platforms.
