Sun Mar 02 01:00:00 UTC 2025: **Pistons’ Cunningham Struggles in Loss to Nuggets**

DENVER, CO – Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham had an off night in Friday’s 134-119 loss to the Denver Nuggets, hampered by the Nuggets’ aggressive defensive strategy. Cunningham finished with 11 points on 3-of-12 shooting, a performance his coach attributed to Denver’s intense defensive pressure.

“They were determined to not let him play,” Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff said. “There were a ton of traps they were putting on him early, trying to get the ball out of his hands.”

Cunningham, who scored only one point in the first half on a free throw, struggled to find his rhythm early, attempting only three shots. While he increased his attempts in the second half, leading the starting five, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Nuggets’ hot shooting, particularly in the second half where they shot 65% from the field, including 9-of-16 from three-point range.

Despite the loss, Cunningham contributed five assists, three rebounds, and two steals. The Pistons, who had won several games before this loss, will look to rebound against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.
