**Vijayawada, March 2, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh Intermediate Public Examinations 2025 commenced on March 1st, with a strong turnout of students across the state’s 1,535 exam centers. Over 5,42,368 students appeared for the first-year exams, representing a 96.41% attendance rate out of 5,62,574 registered candidates. The general category saw a 96.98% attendance rate, while the vocational category recorded 90.01%.

The exams, held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., saw students arriving early with their parents, many engaged in last-minute revision. The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) reported only two cases of malpractice on the first day. The first-year exams will continue until March 19th, while second-year exams are scheduled from March 2nd to 20th, with exams for main subjects concluding on March 13th and 15th respectively for first and second-year students. The exams are being held alternately, one day for each year. For minor subjects, a smaller number of exam centers will operate during the final four days.

The BIE implemented measures to manage crowds, including allocating more space for displaying room allotments and deploying health personnel at each center with medical kits. Students were permitted to enter examination halls 30 minutes prior to the exam start time. A control room at the BIE office in Tadepalli is operational to address complaints and grievances, reachable via toll-free number 18004251531.
