**Malappuram, Kerala – March 1, 2025** – The holy month of Ramzan commenced for Muslims across Kerala on Sunday, March 2nd, following the sighting of the new moon on Saturday evening. Multiple prominent Kazis, including Syed Jifri Muthukoya Thangal, Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal, Syed Ibrahim Khaleel Bukhari, Syed Nasar Hayy Shihab Thangal, and Syed Mohammed Koya Thangal Jamalullaili, confirmed the new moon sighting, officially marking the start of the fasting period. The confirmation was also made by Haj Committee chairperson Husain Saqafi Chulliyodu on behalf of Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar.
