**Bengaluru, February 28, 2025** – MVJ College of Engineering (MVJCE), in collaboration with the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Bangalore Chapter, held a workshop titled “Vishwa-2025: Innovations for a Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Future on Earth and Beyond” on Friday, in observance of National Science Day.
The workshop highlighted the crucial role of science and technology in national progress and addressing climate change challenges. B.N. Suresh, chairman of MVJCE, emphasized the need for innovation for national survival, citing the potential devastating impact of climate change, particularly water scarcity.
S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of INAE, Bangalore Chapter, criticized the exam-centric education system for hindering problem-solving skills in engineering. Padma Vibhushan awardee V.K. Aatre lauded India’s scientific heritage and the transformative potential of technology across various sectors, including defense, medicine, and space exploration. However, he cautioned against the environmental consequences of unchecked technological advancement, specifically mentioning global warming. The workshop celebrated advancements in nanotechnology, AI, and transhumanism while stressing the need for responsible technological growth.
