**Panjim, Goa –** KTM has officially launched its highly anticipated 2025 390 Adventure, boasting significant upgrades in design, electronics, and performance. Following extensive testing in Goa’s diverse terrain, reviewers are hailing the bike as a game-changer in the sub-500cc adventure motorcycle segment.
The new 390 Adventure boasts a striking, rally-inspired design, featuring improved PP body panels for enhanced durability. Ergonomically, the bike provides a comfortable upright riding position suitable for extended journeys, complemented by a generous 237mm ground clearance.
Under the hood, the 399cc single-cylinder engine, borrowed from the 390 Duke, delivers 46 hp and 39 Nm of torque – a significant improvement over its predecessor with power and torque peaking 1000 rpm earlier. The engine, now 1kg lighter, is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a bidirectional quick-shifter, further enhanced by a larger airbox and revised sprockets for superior low-end traction.
Suspension is handled by WP Apex units, both front and rear, offering extensive adjustability for optimized on and off-road performance. The new chassis, designed for both road and trail riding, features a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear, both tubeless with offset spokes for improved bump absorption.
Performance tests revealed impressive acceleration, with a 0-60 kmph sprint time of 2.6 seconds and a 0-100 kmph time of 6.2 seconds. While engine vibrations are noticeable, they are not overly intrusive. Handling is praised for its nimbleness and responsiveness, making it equally adept at navigating city traffic and tackling challenging corners.
Electronic features include three ride modes (Street, Rain, Off-road), a 5-inch TFT screen with enhanced sunlight readability, switchable ABS and traction control, and (on the top-spec model) cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity. The off-road performance is particularly noteworthy, with the bike demonstrating exceptional stability and control, even on loose surfaces.
Priced at Rs. 3.68 lakh (ex-showroom), the KTM 390 Adventure is now available for booking, with deliveries expected to commence in March 2025. With its compelling combination of performance, features, and styling, the new 390 Adventure is poised to challenge rivals like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the BMW G 310 GS, setting a new benchmark in the sub-500cc adventure motorcycle market.
