Sun Feb 23 15:00:00 UTC 2025: ## BJP to Table 14 CAG Reports Targeting AAP in Delhi Assembly’s First Session

**New Delhi, February 23, 2025** – The newly elected Delhi Legislative Assembly will convene on Monday, February 24th, for a three-day session dominated by the tabling of 14 Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports on the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. The BJP, which secured a landslide victory in the recent elections, plans to use these reports, which it claims reveal corruption within the AAP administration, to challenge their opponents.

Newly elected Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in her first cabinet meeting, confirmed that the reports would be tabled. The BJP had repeatedly accused the AAP of withholding the reports during the election campaign. AAP leader Atishi countered these accusations, stating that the reports were submitted to the previous Assembly Speaker and that the BJP’s actions are a political maneuver. She emphasized that the reports were signed off on by her personally.

BJP MLA Vijender Gupta is slated to be named Speaker of the House. The session will also include an address by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena and a discussion on his address, concluding with the election of the Deputy Speaker on February 27th. BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely will serve as pro-tem Speaker until the official Speaker is elected. The BJP won 48 of the 70 seats in the Assembly, marking their first time in power in Delhi and relegating the AAP to the opposition benches for the first time in a decade.
