Sun Feb 23 00:10:00 UTC 2025: ## ESPN Snubs Kentucky for College GameDay Again, Choosing Florida-Texas A&M Matchup

**Lexington, KY** – For the second time this season, ESPN’s College GameDay passed over a high-profile Kentucky Wildcats basketball game, opting instead for a matchup in Gainesville, Florida. Despite a compelling No. 17 Kentucky versus No. 1 Auburn game scheduled for March 1st on ABC, the show selected the Texas A&M versus Florida game, a Top 10 showdown airing on the SEC Network.

This marks another missed opportunity for Kentucky, which last hosted College GameDay in February 2019. The Wildcats have a strong history with the show, appearing 22 times overall (9 times as hosts), but the recent snubs have left fans disappointed. Florida, in contrast, will host College GameDay for the eighth time, with seven of those appearances against Kentucky.

The decision comes after ESPN bypassed the Kentucky-Arkansas game earlier in the season in favor of the less competitive North Carolina-Duke matchup. While the Texas A&M-Florida game promises to be exciting, many feel Kentucky’s matchup against Auburn presented a more compelling case for College GameDay’s presence. The wait for Kentucky’s next College GameDay appearance will continue, with the earliest possibility being the 2025-26 season.
