**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) commenced its Class 10 and 12 board exams today, with approximately 4.2 million students from 8,000 schools across India and 26 international locations participating. The exams, held at 7,842 centers, saw Class 10 Sanskrit and Class 12 Business Studies papers administered this morning.
Strict security measures were implemented to prevent cheating, with students undergoing thorough checks and electronic devices strictly prohibited.
Initial feedback on the Class 12 Business Studies exam suggests a balanced question paper. Alamelu Parameswaran, a commerce teacher at JAIN International Residential School, Bengaluru, described the paper as “standard and aligned according to Board criteria,” covering the syllabus comprehensively with a good mix of theory and application questions. Meera Pandey of VidyaGyan School, Bulandshshr, added that the paper effectively tested both conceptual understanding and higher-order thinking skills, rewarding students who prepared diligently throughout the year.
The CBSE has dismissed recent allegations of a paper leak as baseless attempts to spread panic. The board reiterated its commitment to monitoring the exams and taking action against those responsible for disseminating false information.
Guidelines for students included a specified dress code (school uniform for regular students, light clothing for private candidates), and a list of permitted and prohibited items. Permitted items included basic stationery and a transparent water bottle; prohibited items included all electronic devices, additional stationery, and personal belongings. Exceptions were made for students with specific needs, such as those with dyscalculia or diabetes.
